Microstructure, Optical and Electrical Properties of Cu-Cu<sub>2</sub>O Core-Shell Nanostructures

Composites of nanometre-sized copper core–copper oxide (Cu-Cu2O) shell with different diameters were synthesized by a facile one step co-solvent technique. By the analysis X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) data, resultant particles confirmed to be pure nanocrystalline in nature. The perfect core-shell structure Cu-Cu2O was using high resolution TEM. presence Cu Cu2O further from optical absorbance spectrum Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. tailoring position absorption peaks, originating or nanoparticles, is possible modulating oil water ratio, which controls size composite thickness Cu2O. Drastic change electrical resistivity shell, has been observed. Variation temperature delineates semiconducting nature two distinct activation processes. Results demonstrate that energies for nanostructure composites found smaller than bulk Photoluminescence confirms composite. In addition, kinetic morphology formation also discussed briefly.
